Earth Day Crafts

Tomorrow is Earth Day! Why not enjoy some of these Earth Day inspired crafts with your children.

Planet Earth Projects:

If your kids are fascinated with water, then this craft, making a picture of the planet earth using a coffee filter, markers and water is the perfect craft. Click here for Planet Earth Coffee Filter Craft by DLTK’s Growing Together.

If your kids like paint and glitter, then they will probably enjoy this Keep Our Earth Sparkling Poster. Click here for this earth day craft from Her Cup Overfloweth.

Recycled Wrapping Paper:

We love this idea. Danielle’s Place of Crafts and Activities shows you how to make beautiful beads from strips of wrapping paper.

Recycled Egg Cartons:

Don’t just toss your egg cartons, make these lovely Egg Carton tulips and cute little bugs from Make and Takes.

Recycled Crayons:

Instead of throwing out old crayons, save them, take the paper off, and melt them down to make one large crayon. Instructions for how to do this can be found at amazingmoms.com- look for the item entitled Old to New Crayons .

Recycled Clothing Projects:

This bean bag buddy from Kaboose is the perfect way to reuse an old sock that is missing it’s mate.

Did you ever make pot holders from pieces of cloth as a child in school? We did and still remember how much fun it was. You might want to take a look at the T Shirt Weaving Project from alpha+mom which recycles old shirts.
